Neuromuscular Dry Needling
Superficial Dry needling or Western Style Acupuncture is a useful treatment for many conditions that require relief from pain or to increase a joints movement range. Generally Trigger Points form in a muscle and send painful stimuli to the brain and restrict a joints movement. If your Physiotherapist releases this by inserting a very fine sterilised filament needle into the trigger point then it relaxes and blood flow is increased to the area, with this fresh blood comes oxygen and nutrients that promote healing. Once the Trigger point relaxes the joint moves more freely due to a more pliable muscle with less pain generally.
